Black Screen of Death (still)
I’m having an issue where Battlefield 6 will not launch on my PC. When I click “Play” through Steam, the launcher briefly shows anticheat splash screen, the green bar loads, and then the "black screen of death" appears. After this window of black sticks around for a few minutes, it crashes with no errors.
System Specs:
GPU: NVIDIA RTX 4070 Ti
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 (6 Core, 12 Thread)
Motherboard: ASRock B550 Phantom Gaming 4 AC
RAM: 32 GB DDR4
OS: Windows 11
Launcher: Steam
I feel like I have tried every "troubleshooting" ideas listed.
Verified game files
Reinstalled Battlefield 6 and EA App and EA Anti-Cheat
Updated GPU drivers (NVIDIA) and Windows. Updated CPU, BIOS, and MOBO drivers.
Ran both EA App and Battlefield 6 as Administrator
Disabled antivirus, overlays (Discord, NVIDIA, MSI Afterburner), and background apps
Turned off smooth motion in the NVIDIA app
Weirdest part? The game has successfully launched TWICE in the hundreds of times that I've tried launching it. The beta worked on my PC as well. I've now spent nearly 15 hours scouring the internet and troubleshooting, and have yet to actually play the game. Can't get a refund on Steam either as they count the "black screen" as playtime.... so it's well over 2 hours.
Could EA Support or anyone with similar hardware please confirm if this is a known issue with the current patch or provide additional troubleshooting steps?
