I am also having the badge progress issue, specifically with the 2nd tier engineer class assignment. I finished tier 2 (and should have earned the silver class badge) and the badge is not unlocked. I suspected starting the tier 3 assignment challenge would help and it did not. When I go to the badge in the profile editing page, it says that I need to complete 1 assignment to unlock the silver engineer badge, but when I go to the challenges, it is clearly completed.
