DirectX Error randomly four days into lunch?

Hello,

I have been playing the game for four days straight with no problems. Around 7:30pm est on 10/13/2025 while attempting to start a multiplayer round my game crashed (screen froze on character then the DirectX Error message popped up). See attachment.

I checked the integrity of the game files, they were all good.

I also updated Nvidia drivers as well as updated Windows to the latest update, then restarted the computer.

Once the computer was done with its restart, I checked integrity of game files again, all good. I then proceeded to start the game back up. There were no problems with start up however, once I tried to jump back into multiplayer the same error popped up again.

Any Suggestions? I'm sitting here about to demand a refund and walk away from this game.

  • I had a similar DirectX error but it was about the card hanging and I was able to correct it.  Try the following and see if this helps, if not you've only wasted a few minutes:

    • Turn off the computer.
    • Remove the GPU power connector cable and remove your GPU from your motherboard.
    • Reseat the GPU back in the slot and firmly reconnect the GPU power back into the card
    • If you have a GPU bracket or brace, make sure you adjust it so your GPU isn't sagging.

After doing this, I've been stable for a couple of days now since getting those errors which was happening multiple times a day.  Not saying this will necessarily fix your issue but worth a shot!

    I'll give it a shot!

Its weird because I removed all my gpu drivers today, reinstalled the latest drivers and updated windows as well. The story mode is working but as soon as I got into multiplayer it crashes.

    As of Oct. 21, 2025

Update: I updated all software and drivers, removed the vertical stand for my graphics card. Graphics card is now directly in the motherboard. Dropped the quality of the game to "low" and I have no problems with the game now, especially with multiplayer.

However, I did run into Direct X error again, two days ago. I double checked Nvidia drivers and Windows software. Windows was not updated, there was a patch for something. That being said I completed the windows update, went back into the game and checked settings again. I reset the settings to low and now the game works again. ....   I don't get it, the battle continues!
