FSR 2 Consistently Causing Crash
I absolutely love this new Battlefield game but I haven't been able to play it because of the constant crashing. I've been experiencing this since launch, but not in the beta. I have been scouring the internet trying any and every fix but I feel like I have tried everything to the point where I think its an issue with the game itself. I bought the game on steam by the way.
Here are my PC specs:
CPU: Intel i7-13700k (default settings, not overclocked)
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080
Storage: 2TB Samsung NVME SSD
Memory: 32 GB DDR5
MOBO: ASUS PRIME Z790-P WIFI
Originally, my computer was Windows 10, but because they ended support and I didn't know about continued security updates, I upgraded to Windows 11. This is when the crashing started to occur.
The crashes will occur randomly and can take as little as 5 minutes of playing, to 2 hours of playing to occur. Every time it happens, Battlefield will close, then after 30 seconds steam will close. After that, Windows becomes unresponsive and slowly all other application close and I can't open anything else. Finally, after about 2-3 minutes all my monitors go gray with just my mouse visible.
A few times, I have gotten a memory error but I haven't been able to get a screenshot of it before Windows goes gray.
So far I have tried the following "solutions" but these are not in order:
- Fresh Windows 11 install
- Update graphics drivers
- Update BIOS to latest version via USB stick
- Force randomization for images disabled (Mandatory ASLR)
- Set all graphics settings to low/off
- Add -bEnableGlimpse 0 for startup in launch options in steam
- Delete and reinstall the game
- Disabled nvidia reflex+boost completely
- Turned on TAA and disabled all frame generation
- Created user.cfg file with GlimpseEnable 0 and GlimpseTelemetryEnable 0
This seems to be an FSR 2 issue. I was able to get a crash dump log which I will post here as well. It was hitting an exception code at 0x80000003 - ffxFsr2ResourceIsNull+0x2746db0. Any help so I can play the game would be appreciated.
