Forum Discussion
Hey folks,
Thanks for sharing your reports about crashing to desktop on Windows PC during game launch, gameplay, or map changes since today’s 1.1.2.0 update (Nov 18).
Please read 👇
‼️ Could you please attach any crash dump files found in your C:\Users\{user}\Documents\Battlefield 6\CrashDumps folder to your post here? I’ll pass them along to the team to see if they can investigate what might be causing this. These files don't contain any PII.
⁉️ To attach them, please upload the files to a cloud storage service such as Google Drive or Dropbox, then share the sharing-link here. Unfortunately, this currently seems to be the only reliable method -- apologies for the inconvenience.

Issue Summary
Battlefield 6 crashes immediately after the splash screen on Windows 11 25H2 (build 26200.xxx).
A small black window appears in the top-left corner, then the game closes with no error.
This did not happen before the 18 Nov BF6 update.
The game worked on the same Windows build before that update.
Crash Dump Findings
Crash dump shows:
- Exception 0xc0000005 (access violation)
- Invalid pointer write at ntdll!RtlpWaitOnCriticalSection
- Fault occurs early in initialization (13 seconds uptime)
- Stack includes ffxFsr2ResourceIsNull
- This suggests engine memory initialization runs into invalid pointers because EAAC memory hooks are not present
This matches behavior where EAAC driver fails to attach during launch.
Key Discovery
EAAC service installs, but the EA Anti-Cheat per-game driver fails to install.
The folder C:\ProgramData\EA\AC\ never appears regardless of actions taken.
This means Battlefield 6 launches without its required anti-cheat driver.
Symptoms
- Game splash loads
- A tiny black window appears
- Game exits instantly
- No popup error
- Reliability Monitor only shows “bf6.exe stopped working”
- EA Anti-Cheat GUI sometimes reports “Installation failed”
- EAAC service installs, but per-game driver does not
- Folder C:\ProgramData\EA\AC\ is never created
- Event Viewer logs:
File System Filter 'EAAntiCheat' loaded successfully.
File System Filter 'EAAntiCheat' unloaded successfully.
System Details
CPU: Ryzen 5 5500
GPU: AMD RX 6650 XT
RAM: 32GB DDR4 3600 (running at Auto/JEDEC)
Motherboard: ASUS PRIME B450M-A II (BIOS 4644 with new fTPM firmware)
Storage: NVMe SSD
Platform Security: Secure Boot ON, TPM 2.0 ON
OS: Windows 11 25H2 (build 26200.7171)
Store: EA App
Drivers: AMD chipset drivers
Anti-cheat: EA Javelin Anti-Cheat (latest)
What Has Been Tried
Hardware and BIOS
- Updated BIOS to version 4644
- Reset BIOS to optimized defaults
- Secure Boot keys reset and restored
- fTPM updated (new firmware in this BIOS version)
- CSM disabled
- RAM tested at multiple frequencies:
- Auto around 3200 MHz
- 2666 MHz
- 2133 MHz
- FCLK tested at:
- Auto (1600 MHz)
- 1200 MHz
- 1066 MHz
- No XMP/DOCP profile enabled
EA Anti-Cheat Actions
- Deleted all EAAC folders
- Uninstalled and reinstalled EAAC via installer
- Tried manual command:
"C:\Program Files\EA\AC\EAAntiCheat.Installer.exe" install bf6
- EAAC service installs correctly
- Per-game driver does not install
- C:\ProgramData\EA\AC\ never appears
- EAAC loads then unloads immediately
- Event Viewer sometimes logs Secure Boot key update messages (Event 1801), but this stopped after restoring keys
Security and Permissions
- Memory Integrity OFF
- Defender exclusions applied
- Controlled Folder Access OFF
- OneDrive backup OFF
- Full permissions granted to ProgramData and EA folders
Result:
- EAAC loads
- Immediately unloads
- Battlefield 6 shuts down
- No error message
- Crash dump shows uninitialized synchronization objects
This began only after the 18 Nov Battlefield 6 update.
The game worked before that update on the same Windows build.
Conclusion
Battlefield 6 will not launch because EA Anti-Cheat fails to install its per-game driver on Windows 11 25H2 build 26200.xxx after the Nov 18 update.

Happy to share some crash dumps.
On my system the crashes are related to loading at least one of the following maps:
- Kairo
- Blackwell
- Eastwood
- potentially Saints Quarter
The game has CTD if I start one of the mentioned maps right after game start. The game freezes and failes to write a crash dump if one of the maps is loaded during gameplay rotation.

C:\Program Files\EA Games\Battlefield 6
On search box top right, search "levels", delete all "levels" folders
Repair the game.
Worked.
