Game crashes during Shader Load.
I've fought with this issue several times since release. I've tried everything and anything multiple times and each update breaks the game again. this is the only game in which this has happened - and I don't have a specific fix that has worked. I've even formatted my pc twice because of this game.
System / Crash Description:
- Battlefield 6 crashes specifically during shader compilation/loading.
- Other games and general system usage appear stable.
- Sometimes the PC fully crashes/restarts, other times only the game crashes.
- During crashes:
- keyboard RGB disconnects/reconnects,
- audio stutters/freezes,
- system partially hangs temporarily,
- then Battlefield closes.
- Issue has previously been fixed twice in the past, but later game updates reintroduced the problem.
- Problem appears isolated to Battlefield 6.
Troubleshooting Already Performed:
BIOS / Hardware Stability:
- Disabled Core Performance Boost (CPB).
- Disabled AVX512.
- Manually set SOC voltage to 1.20V.
- Confirmed RAM is running JEDEC DDR5-5200 (not EXPO overclocked).
- Tested conservative BIOS settings focused on stability.
- Verified system is not aggressively overclocked.
Shader / Cache / Windows Cleanup:
- Deleted Battlefield shader cache.
- Deleted Windows DirectX shader cache.
- Reset AMD shader cache.
- Rebuilt shaders from scratch multiple times.
AMD Driver Troubleshooting:
- Fully removed and reinstalled AMD Adrenalin drivers.
- Rolled back AMD GPU drivers to versions prior to March.
- Tested with clean driver installations.
Graphics / DX12 Troubleshooting:
- Disabled AMD features such as:
- Anti-Lag,
- Radeon Boost,
- Chill,
- Enhanced Sync,
- Frame Generation / AFMF.
- Disabled overlays where possible.
- Attempted DX11 launch options / DX12 disabling tests.
System / Software Troubleshooting:
- Closed overlays and background software during shader compilation.
- Attempted shader compilation without Discord, browsers, overlays, or monitoring tools running.
- Tested multiple Battlefield launches after full cache rebuilds.
- Investigated Windows/driver-level instability possibilities.
Additional Observations:
- Issue appears heavily tied to shader compilation specifically.
- Battlefield updates seem to trigger/reintroduce the issue.
- System-wide instability only appears during Battlefield shader loading.
- Behavior resembles a driver timeout or low-level interaction rather than a standard game crash.
