HDR brightness in Battlefield 6 is incorrect.

Enabling HDR before launching Battlefield 6 causes the overall screen brightness of my PC to drop to the minimum. The brightness returns to normal after closing the game. This issue does not occur in other games like Battlefield 2042.

I am using the newest NVIDIA drivers and the newest version of Windows 11.

Once in the game, I am unable to make any adjustments to the actual brightness through the in-game brightness settings. Even adjusting the monitor brightness via its external buttons has no effect.

If I disable the HDR option in Windows 11 before launching the game, and then re-enable HDR through Windows 11 after the game has loaded, I can achieve normal brightness.

However, in this case, I cannot use the built-in HDR calibration feature in Battlefield 6. Therefore, I must know if there are any other solutions via settings, or do I need to wait for an update to fix this issue?

This is the second time I have encountered this problem while playing the Battlefield series (including Battlefield 1, 5, and 2042). The same issue only occurs when I play Battlefield 2.

  • the whole brightness in this game is disgusting. hdr on or off, they have done it wrong. you can run in and out of shadows and the brightness will change extremely higher or lower on the go. bf2042 had it perfect (crap game) but the quality and lighting was on point. i gota 4090, ultra wide and its horrible, nearly unplayable on here. and alllllll the anti ailiasing in the game are **bleep**. bf 2042 AAlow was perfect

I am playing on an SDR monitor, and everything bright looks way overexposed and way too bright.
