I have the same problem; you can adjust your settings to display your ping on the scoreboard. My ping is stable at 12 or 13 ms, yet I experience the same spikes you do—sometimes reaching 500–800 ms—while the scoreboard still shows me at 13. Good thing I can make such great use of this Double XP
