Keyboard Inputs Randomly Stop Registering (Holding Keys Breaks Movement)

Hey everyone,

I’ve been having a really frustrating issue in Battlefield 6 where my keyboard inputs randomly stop registering.

When I hold W to move forward, it will suddenly stop recognizing that I’m holding it down — as if I released the key. It’s especially noticeable while side-strafing, sprinting, crouching, reviving, or doing any other action that requires holding more than one key.

Mouse inputs (aiming, shooting) are completely unaffected.

What’s happening

  • While holding movement keys (W, A, D, Shift, etc.), the game occasionally acts like I’ve let go.
  • Happens even in menus, not just during gameplay.
  • Mouse input continues to work fine.
  • Tried 3 different keyboards, different USB ports and cables — same issue every time.
  • All other games work perfectly, no input issues elsewhere.

Has anyone else run into this? Or found a possible fix or workaround?

It’s making the game really hard to play at the moment.

Edit:

I found a solution to my issue. When I started the game, my computer would constantly Connect and disconnect from a random bluetooth input device. I removed all bluetooth device connections from Windows and now it’s fine.

  • TLDR, try unplugging game controllers or any non BF 6 wired or wireless / blue tooth devices and see if it fixes it

i have a similar issue but it's with my mouse after using the game controller for several minutes (I kb mouse infantry and ground and controller for flight) and mouse would stutter, movement loses frames, lags, jumps around randomly, clicks buttons randomly. I unplugged controllers / disconnected wifi / blue tooth controllers and mouse works fine. I found the fix is to unplug game controllers and replug back in (if I need to use it) and mouse work fine. If I have both controller and kb and mouse plugged in (I tested with all the USB C and A combos I have) mouse works ok, even if controller is used briefly (like a minute or so) but several minutes of controller usage cause the mouse to go haywire. And solution is to unplug (and  I can replug the controller) and its back to normal.

Side note: I stopped using wireless /blue tooth game controllers cuz on one of my gaming laptops w/ Win 11, wifi devices tend to force it use wireless for network connection even though ethernet works and is plugged in (strange it works fine in Win 10, i think its b/c the mobo was made during win 10 before win 11 24/25 h2 patch, and new bios doesn't work, i use the same manufacturer bios for their flagship desktop mobo and it works w/ wifi and ethernet switching, but glitches too much other stuff since the mobo i got isn't the desktop flagship one, so yeah, as it worked fine in early Win 11 pre 24h2). And on desktop win 11, its fine (and it has both cable ethernet and WiFi. Well besides the polling rate is much higher if you go wired also.

I had a similar resolution. I had several USB Bluetooth Receivers for my desktop. I updated drivers for these which made no difference, but one of them was showing an issue in Device Manager. I removed all my Bluetooth receivers and disabled Bluetooth in windows and have not had the issue since.

I’m also having this issue, just with my ‘A’ key. I’m stopped constantly whilst strafing left. I don't have any wireless receivers plugged into my PC as everything is wired so the solutions above haven’t changed anything. It’s really frustrating.

  • This issue persist in Windows even after closing the game.. for me it is UP key. Last week it was a different key. I haveto reboot to make it go away.
