I spent about 6 hours yesterday troubleshooting. Here is what I did and found.
- First, I removed all mods and all games installed on my computer. A bit drastic, but wanted to rule that out too. Someone on steam said that fixed their issue.
- I cleared my DirectX cache
- Validated that my Secure Boot CA/Keys match
- Reinstalled .net and VC++ runtime DLLs
- Run a SFC /SCANNOW, no issues
- Run Memory Diagnostic, no issues
- Removed any and all storage pools (People said this worked for other EA games)
- Did the GPU cycle suggestion like above.
- Uninstalled the EA app so it doesn't interfere with steam.
- No CPU overclocking, no XMP, graphics at default without OC.
After all of that still nothing. Then I got Cursor AI involved (OpenAI, Gemini, and Claude) and it found these things for me:
- So with a fresh install, I verify integrity of game files. After a fresh install, it says everything looks great. So hit play, then it crashes, I run the same exercise, now there are three files failed to validate and will be reacquired.
- To locate the files, I sort the files in the install location by last updated and found these three files that do not match the other time stamps.
- preloader_I.dll
- EAAntiCheat.GameServiceLauncher.dll
- EAAntiCheat.GameServiceLauncher
- To locate the files, I sort the files in the install location by last updated and found these three files that do not match the other time stamps.
- So next after the crash, I go to Event Viewer, look at the error message. The message doesn't make sense, here it is:
I hope that some of the steps above will help some, but it didn't help me. Still quite on EA's end with no responses, but that seems to be the playbook from what I am seeing from everyone else. At this point I am burned out trying to make a game work... something I never thought would be my issue... but here we are. Let me know if anyone else has any suggestions. Off to work, will check in for suggestions throughout the day.
Explain exactly what is happening, how does your game crash? If you start up the game you get the loading image of the game and then it crashes? Or are you able to get in the game and then you get an error message? Or does it simply crash without loading and no error message.
It's getting really confusing because as i responded yesterday when i saw you got the (EA failed to launch the game) This has absolutely nothing to do with the game, this is your EA token that's expired or corrupted.
Now according to your recent post with the EA Anticheat code: 0xC0000142. This points out to me that you should do a clean EA AntiCheat re install. First try running the game as administrator to see what happens, if the game runs set it to always run as admin, and your problem is fixed.
There is absolutely no indication at the moment that you have a graphic or DirectX issue.

So I started on EA app on launch day, then saw the tweet that said to just ask for refund and play on steam, so I left the EA app to go to Steam app. Same issue, both platforms. Anti-cheat loads, no error message on the anti-cheat screen at the top, black screen then appears in the upper left in a 1080p-ish resolution, then it crashes instantly. I think I need to update the primary chat with all the sub-replies to help sum up everything. Running as administrator gives me the same 0xC0000142 error, both anti-cheat.exe and the BF6.exe.

so i had the same problem on launch day, but i got it fixed after looking here, if u have a Nvidia gpu. idk how it works on Radeon tho but u need to basically restore ur graphics card in the app for it. it should work after that.

Thank you for the recommendation. Just reinstalled the drive, there was a section that said restore to factory default, did that with no luck, same error message.
Another fun note, still not response from anyone that works at EA... So this is fun. Thank you everyone that is trying to help, I really appreciate it. It doesn't go wasted on me the help you all are providing by picking up the slack from EA. @ea I expected better.

I just noticed something, you have an old Windows 11 build --> 26100 (wtf!) .. You need to go to your Windows update, click the button to update your windows...and get the latest 26200.6899 build.
The issues you have are known and have been addressed by EA. They updated the Anti Cheat driver to be fully compatible with newer Windows 11 builds, fixing the Secure Boot 0xC0000142 crash. The newer build ensures the Anti Cheat driver is properly signed and compatible. And you happen to have this old build that causes all these problems!
It's possible because you have the Home version that it won't update through the Win update, then use the Windows 11 installation assistant.
Okay bro, go update your windows to 26200.6899 and be sure to let me know if it solved your issue.

Thank you for letting me know about this. So there are no updates available for me to download, this includes optional updates as well. That was the first thing I checked when the game wouldn't launch... that being said, I guess I need to figure out my version is out of date with no windows update available.
*******Update: After looking again, I do have the latest version of windows installed. Accordingly to my logs, I installed it 10/14 during my troubleshooting. So, I can confirm this isn't the issue.
