Laser designator deploys itself when trying to paint target

Laser designator barely usable for me. Everytime I try to paint targets using the laser designator in handheld mode, it unscopes itself and tries to deploy the tripod. My theory is the trigger to...

Same here. As soon as I left mouse click the screen flickers and sometimes it paints but mostly it deploys the LD.
