Same here. "populating with bots" problem is getting on my nerves.
Don't get me wrong, i think vehicles and **bleep** are the core of Battlefield, but i'm kinda tired of vehicles everywhere.
I would love some infantry only stuff. I think portal could help with this, but as stated by the OP, most people don't even touch portal, specially on low population regions.
IDK, maybe it will change in the future. I'm over 100h in. the game is fire, but needs some urgent attention in some areas.
