Matchmaking only on US or Asia servers?

People playing from the EU keep ending up — for several days now, with only short interruptions — on servers located basically nowhere. Playing with my folks from GER always means 120+ ping and packet loss. What’s going on over there, can’t you get the matchmaking sorted?
