Re: PSA: Mouse Input is broken in this game (looks similar to bad frame timing)

Battlefield 6 mouse aiming feels incredibly choppy but feels perfectly smooth with a controller. No combination of settings were able to fix this for me. This is a minor issue in Battlefield 1 for me, it’s not as bad. Same thing happens in Helldivers 2 but turning on mouse smoothing in game fixes it. I’ve seen a handful of people mention this from the beta which I also played, but it seems much worse at launch.

Mouse and controller aim both feel perfect in Battlefield 4, Doom Eternal, The Finals, and Cyberpunk 2077.

  • GPU:  RTX 5090
  • CPU:  9800X3D
  • RAM:  Gskill 6000 mt/s
  • Motherboard:  MSI MPG Carbon Wifi x870
  • Monitor:  240hz LG OLED 3440x1440p 45in
  • Mouse:  Logitech G502X lightspeed at 1000 polling rate, 950 DPI, on-board memory with Ghub not running. Same issue whether wired or using wireless USB dongle
  • Keyboard:  Keychron K3v3 connected via Bluetooth
  • Controllers:  Xbox Elite v2, Dualsense Edge

Edit 11/19/2025 after testing suggestions from replies:

  • Nvidia Control Panel: gsync - on, vsync - on
  • In Game:  120fps cap, frame gen 2x
  • This makes the mouse jutter better but not 100% gone. Also just used to gaming closer to 200 fps so 120 looks worse to my eyes

  • Nvidia Control Panel: gsync - off, vsync - on
  • In Game: no fps cap, vsync - on, frame gen 2x, DLAA or DLSS Quality.
  • This is how I’m playing and I think it’s close to perfect. Any mouse jutter is mostly imperceptible. This is the best I can get it to feel, definitely better than the gsynced 225 fps. Seems like the game has issues with gsync and mouse polling.
  • I would suggest trying this out. Disable gsync, enable vsync in NVCP and in game, and adjust your in game settings so that you are able to constantly hit your monitors max refresh rate. I don’t dip below 240 ever so it feels smooth with a constant vsync lock. The purpose of Gsync is mostly to make variable fps feel smoother anyway. Not really needed if you’re maxing your monitors refresh rate
