Netcode desperately needs fixed.

The one thing absolutely killing my desire to play any more of this game is netcode, specifically the ridiculous discrepancy between time to kill (TTK) and time to die (TTD).

TTK seems to be fairly consistent, especially with the recent bloom fixes. However, TTD is anything but. You aren’t notified that you’re being shot until it’s too late. The vast majority of the time, gunfights aren’t even possible. Whoever shoots first will always win. But you aren’t even able to tell if your opponent shoots first. You take all the damage at once and die instantly. You dump a mag into an enemy only for them to turn on you and instantly kill you. You take damage around corners. You get shot when the enemy isn’t even looking in your direction. What the enemy sees and what you see are completely different. Getting kills when an enemy is shooting at you is far more luck than skill. It makes playing the game extremely inconsistent and downright infuriating.

I’ve been playing Battlefield regularly since Bad Company. I like BF6. The foundation for this game is solid and it has a ton of potential.  I want to put a lot of time into this game. I want to unlock things and complete challenges. I want to explore all the maps and modes, including RedSec. But after only a few matches at a time, I’m always tapped out. It’s not worth the frustration. I log on, get burned, and log off angry. I honestly don’t want to play the game anymore until it’s fixed.

I really hope that the team is working on this.

  • I've noticed this also (PC, low ping)...

Not all the time, not every game, but it's becoming increasingly more regular.

For example, dumping 3/4 a mag into someone (M4A1), with hit markers and audio cues the whole time - they don't die, but turn and kill in an instant.

Pre-aiming as you come around a corner with L110, getting the drop on multiple people only to tag them a whole bunch, get no kills, and one turns to kill you in what feels and sounds like 1 shot, but the game tells you they hit you 4 times.

Sometimes their health still displays as full, other times you see it drop *after* it shows you the killing player's info.

I have also seen numerous videos displaying this kind of behaviour, but even worse... So hopefully it's known, and something is being done to improve the hit rego/desync/whatever it is...

As it doesn't happen all the time, one thing I haven't paid attention to is if these players are PC players or console players (ie: is this related to crossplay at all, or is it a global game issue?), but something I will try to keep an eye on moving forward - in the interest of reporting and hopefully future fixes.

  • It's pretty frustrating, today I put 5 rounds into someone "5 hit markers" he turned and killed me with one round it looked like.

Going on all the time now.

Also, low ping, optic fiber on PC.

  • This is an ongoing issue with BF-games and has been a problem for a long time. Only BF1 felt somewhat decent, but that was probably because the weapons, in general, had a low ROF.

BF6 even feels like its gotten worse with season 1, now most of my deaths feels like you describe.

TTD and general visibility are the biggest issue in the game imho.
