Pop up saying my save files are corrupted And Could Not Be Read

hey all,

I have a serious problem. I just had a blue sceen and it claims it was caused by the anti cheat. I will put up a screenshot. Then I tried loading into the game only to get the pop up. WARNING: Your save files are corrupt and could not be read by the game. Continuing will overwrite that save file. What do I do from here?

Hi there. Sorry  to hear about your damaged save file. If your PC blue-screened while the game was running, the most likely cause is that the local save or settings profile was being written at the time and got corrupted.

What I’d recommend first is to back up and reset the local save file:

    1. Close Battlefield 6 completely
    2. Also fully close the EA app / Steam
    3. Go to:
      C:\Users\%USERNAME%\Documents\Battlefield 6\settings\
    4. Make a backup copy of that whole settings folder somewhere safe
    5. In that folder, look for:
      • PROFSAVE_profile
      • PROFSAVE (if present)
    6. Rename them to something like:
      • PROFSAVE_profile_old
      • PROFSAVE_old

Then launch the game again and let it create fresh files.

If the error is gone after that, then the blue-screen most likely damaged the old profile file. Keep in mind this may reset some local settings or even campaign progress, which is why I’d definitely back up the folder first before changing anything.

If renaming just those files does not help, back up the folder and then try removing the entire settings folder so the game can rebuild it from scratch.
