PS5 DualSense Gyro Aiming – Right Stick Disabled / No Hybrid Aim

Hi EA,

I’m writing to report a major usability issue with gyro (motion sensor) aiming on PS5 using the DualSense controller in Battlefield 6, and to ask whether this issue is planned to be addressed.

Battlefield 6 currently includes gyro / motion sensor aiming settings, so gyro support is technically present. However, the current implementation is not functional in practice because enabling or binding gyro aiming causes the right analog stick look input to be disabled or overridden. This forces the player into a gyro-only camera control, which is not a viable or practical way to play a fast-paced shooter like Battlefield.

Why this is important:

I specifically purchased Battlefield 6 because it offered gyro aiming support. Gyro aiming is essential for me when playing shooters, and I struggle to play games of this type without a proper hybrid gyro setup.

If I had known in advance that enabling gyro aiming would disable the right analog stick and prevent normal hybrid control, I would not have purchased the game.

If hybrid gyro support is not planned, please clarify this officially so players can make informed purchase decisions, and so I can also stop waiting for a fix, uninstall the game, and move on knowing this will not be addressed.

Expected / standard behavior:

In modern shooters, gyro aiming is expected to work as a hybrid system, where:

  • Right analog stick remains active for standard camera/look movement
  • Gyro is used simultaneously for fine aiming and precision control
  • Options exist for ADS-only gyro, always-on gyro, or gyro activated via a button
  • Sensitivity, deadzone, and smoothing options do not disable other inputs

Current behavior (problem)

  • Enabling or binding gyro aiming disables right stick look input
  • Camera movement becomes gyro-only
  • This makes the feature impractical and effectively unusable for many players

Request / questions

  1. Is this behavior a known issue, or is it considered intended design?
  2. Is the team planning to implement proper hybrid gyro + right stick aiming on PS5?
  3. If so, is there any timeline or confirmation that this issue is being addressed?

Gyro aiming is a major accessibility and playability feature for me, and the current implementation directly affects my ability to enjoy the game. I would appreciate an official response and clarity on whether this will be fixed.

Thank you for your time.

Best regards,
