PS5 shutting down with BF6

Hello EA,

I have a question for you, my PS5 shuts down without warning only when playing BF6, I played more demanding games and it doesnt shut down, I would love to be able to play BF6, I was part of the pre-alfa batch of players.

I replaced the fan for a bigger one thinking it was overheating but it was not helpful, I clear cache and coockies, re build the data base, restored license of the game and nothing helped.

Checking in online forums they mentioned to uninstall the HD textures which I did and still not working.

Please advise what I should do because for now even if I enter the game and leave it in the lobby the PS5 will shut down, no warning message no nothing, in order to turn it on again I have to unplug the power cord for a few seconds and connected again but if I play BF6 it will shutdown once more.

Please help this fan get back in to the game.

Hey there. It sounds like your console is overheating. Is it in a well ventilated space with the vents free of any debris? If so, have you opened it up to check for a build up of dust internally? If your console is a few years old and you've never done this, chances are good that's what is causing your system to turn off.

Hey, yeah I cleaned it when I changed the fan, and no overheating warning message at all, as mentioned other games run for hours and are a more demanding than BF6, seems to be related to the HD Textures from what I saw in forums

Ok. Thanks for letting me know. Is this your only PS5? It would be good to see if it happens on another one. Typically, this is an issue with the console and not the game that's causing it. We're not aware specifically of BF 6 causing PS5s to shut off.

Yeah its the only one I own, and from what I saw in Reddit there are more pleople with the same problem, if it was an issue with the console I believe that all the other games will crash at some point after a long gaming session and they dont.
After deleting the HD content and textures I was able to launch the game and leave it in the lobby without crashing so I do believe its related.

Thanks for the update. We'll make an announcement if we find any issues with PS5 consoles turning off as a result of an issue with the game.

Hi thanks, so far I uninstalled all HD content and textures and was abke to play for more than 1hr, downloaded again the textures and HD content to test and while in the lobby the PS5 shut down

Have you also checked the thermal paste? It may need to be replaced.

Do you have a link to the forums where others were talking about this same issue?

Yes, liquid metal and thermal paste plus the fan, I saw them in Reddit, will try to find it and share it with you.

Thanks. We've received very few reports of this when compared with the overall PS5 player base for BF6. So, we're not aware of any issues with the game causing this. It all points to a hardware issue. We will keep monitoring for more reports though.
