Sure you may be able to make custom maps ok that's great. But you can't run your custom maps when you always get this error message -> Global Game Quota Exceeded. So whats the point of making maps when you can't run them?
Its because of all the booster servers.
Dice need to really clean it up and keep it clean.
thats because 1 million sh!theads are on xp servers and do afk lvling. they should reset portal servers with bots only daily. so that people that really want to add something new to the community have a chance to host a server. since 2 days i was not able to host a server because of that error.
I agree 100% DICE should reset portal servers with bots only daily. I would suggest 12 midnight in every time zone or at least shut the server down when the Host leaves the game with bots only servers!,,,,,,,,NUFF SAID!!!
I'd also suggest portal creators should be able to sign up for specialized priority, tied to their game...if they do good work they get more priority on starting servers, if they're abusing bots for xp they permanently lose it.
I don't even think Portal is a thing right now. I've spent about 3 hours total about an half an hour at a time tying to host a game. There's nothing there. It's HOST Button to nowhere. 100% product misrepresentation. And for all those that gripe about people trying to use it ??? that's the ONLY reason I bought this game, and I was sold that content in their sales pitch. It's a piece of software that is a scam. They knew for sure that that feature would attract old long time player looking for some casual gameplay, and the suckered us. It is a scam. Portal will never ever have to capacity for those that want to use it ... PERIOD >.. by design. It is a hollow sales pith and a scam. And will only get worse as they sell more games. It is far cheaper to put up a server posting ...

Than to actually run a gaming server. It is a scam. It is money for nothing. And no mistake.
I just put in about another half an hour hoping against hope that I might get lucky, but I'm about done. They know I will eventually have to give up and there is the money for nothing part of the scam. They when selling me at no time said Portal is all that and a Bag of Chips, but only x number of people get to use it at a time. And here is how the scam is set up.
2 servers one running actual games, so they can say yes it really is there and works. The other running wide open posting that GLOBAL GAME QUOTA message 500,000 times a second all over the world as people like me click away trying to convince ourselves we have not been had. In time there will be more servers posting that message than actual gaming servers, The scam is complete.
If I was EA I would start a server rental program and leave this free hosting bs. We could have third party servers back in BF3 times with more admins than one. Bots are necessary to fill up servers initially but it is useless if a 32 player server gets 24 bots and there is no option to start the game. No players who join will wait even one minute doing nothing. Also the server browser needs some love. There is no favorite option and created servers don't always show up. I have no hopes though that anything will change in the positive direction.

What we really need is to be able to run OWN servers on our OWN computers. It aint rocket science. I have ran game servers since 1998. The way it is setup now IMHO is just wrong.
Portal is currently unplayable, like most servers in this game. The same error keeps appearing: "GLOBAL GAME QUOTA EXCEEDED" – EA doesn't have the infrastructure, and from what I can see, didn't have it in place to make it all work properly. The open beta artificially fueled crowds by showcasing a state of the game that the current release version doesn't have – it's insane. They weren't prepared for this? They saw how many copies they sold – now they're feigning surprise.
For the past two days, I've only been able to log into the game once – waiting for hours with my friends for the PORTAL map to finally launch.
I bought this game because they advertised that we'd all be able to make and enjoy our own official verified portal servers. This is clearly NOT the case. I have no desire to play on normal conquest servers with the terrible netcode and awful hit registration. I want to play the experience i created with my friends, but cannot.
At the end of the day, we've all been lied to boys.
if you keep spamming they will launch after 5-10 minutes. its just a pain that once you get one, there's no break between games and you can't afk more than a few seconds before it boots you. so you gotta marathon the sessions or lose your spot.
Yes im glad i did not buy that game ...what a bunch of nonsense . u pay 100 bucks for a game that promotes features that dont work . if i dod that id be out of business , The portal is garbage ... this is exactly why i dont buy battlefeild . Cost me 20 bucks with ea play to find out that they failed again on the server side . cancelled
