Severe Desync and Hit Registration Issues on PS5 - Game Currently Unplayable
Platform: PlayStation 5
Region: US Florida
Connection Type: Fiber / Wired Ethernet with QoS and UPnP enabled
Issue: Persistent desync and hit registration problems
Description:
I'm experiencing severe desync and hit registration issues that make the game extremely frustrating and nearly unplayable. The main problems I'm encountering are:
- Kill count discrepancies - I see myself eliminating 10 (Example) enemies during a match, but the scoreboard shows only 5 kills registered
- Delayed hit registration - Shots clearly landing on target don't register, or register several seconds late
- Losing gunfights I should win - I see an enemy first, start shooting them (even from behind), land multiple hits, but they turn around and kill me instantly as if I never hit them at all
- Getting killed behind cover - I take damage, move behind solid cover/walls to safety, but still get killed even though I'm completely hidden. This appears to be the server registering my position differently from what I see on my screen
- General desync - Players teleporting, rubberbanding, and actions not matching what I see on screen
- These issues occur consistently across:
- Solo play and when playing with friends as teams in the US Florida, for example
- All map sizes (short, medium, and large maps)
- Different game modes, including Conquest and Breakthrough
- Whether using voice chat or not
What I've already tried:
- Wired Ethernet connection (not WiFi)
- QoS is enabled on the router
- UPnP enabled
- Tested my internet connection - it's stable and fast
- Other online games work perfectly with no lag or desync
My internet connection is NOT the problem. Based on community reports, this appears to be an EA server infrastructure and netcode issue affecting many players.
My frustration:
I paid full price for this game and cannot reliably enjoy it due to these server-side problems. It's incredibly disappointing to invest time in matches where my actions don't register properly, making it feel like I'm playing poorly when the reality is that the game simply isn't functioning correctly. The inconsistency is the worst part - some sessions work fine, which proves the game CAN work, but most of the time the experience is degraded by these server issues.
