I tried 3x times on launch day to play the game and I had 3 crashes with the exact behaviour that you describe. I managed less than 60mins of actual game time. Didn't manage to complete a single match.
I gave up in the end, thought it could be a release bug, figured I'd try again a few days later. Which I did. Only then to find out my account was issued a ban after the 3rd and final crash of the launch day.
It's pathetic for a company of this stature to produce this poor quality product. That's before we get on about the almost non-existent follow up customer care.
