I can't connect to Battlefield 6. Every time I try, I get a connection error message with this code: Connection failed, error code: 1:86001S:66003S:4688822970:0B.
I've tried restarting the game and network, using a VPN, changing my EA account, DNS, ports, clearing my balance, and disconnecting USB ports. Although I haven't done anything since the game was released, the issue persists. Please provide me with instructions to resolve this issue.

This error is caused by your account having two separate EA IDs which is not something that should be possible but I can promise you that if you were able to put into a ticket, you're wasting your time. EA support literally does not grasp what the issue is and I tried to argue with them for over 5 hours last night. Basically for example if I go on the EA desktop app and go to my profile, it will not show my correct EA ID instead of my current one but by changing my "Nickname" on that profile to the correct ID it would overwrite the nickname and fix my profile to have the correct name. This issue would happen to me with Battlefield 2042 and that was how I would fix it.
However, now I'm in the same situation as you as I own the game on steam and this is not an option to fix the game. No matter how many tickets you put in support doesn't understand what the issue is and our games are basically bricked unless you can convince them to fix this issue on your account. The error we're getting is an account authentication error caused by ID mismatch and you literally cannot fix it on your end with the Steam copy of the game without starting over.
I've tried unlinking and relinking to the same account but it did not fix the issue. Linking to a brand new account should 100% fix the problem but you're going to probably lose all of your game progress that you made on the first day.

I have changed the account of ea to connect it in Steam. It doesn't help, only lose all my progress as you said.

Hey, can you maybe check if you got shadow banned like me? I got a random shadow ban and afterwards the exact error message like yours. You can check it by ordering your data https://myaccount.ea.com/am/ui/security-privacy/download about privacy and look up your penalties on the file you will receive.

Just got the same error. I played fine on Friday and Saturday, now today, I get an error. What I did was quit the EA App, reloaded it. The App sent me a verification code to my email and I enter the 6 digit code and I logged in. The game loaded fine then. I've loaded the game twice so far, haven't played, but it compiled shaders and got to the menu.

they dont update us on anything the support is **bleep**ing useless
i waited 3 DAYS for them to tell me "the issue has been resolved" when it clearly **bleep**ing isnt lol
now i guess i gotta wait 3 more days for another generic response

I'm experiencing the EXACT same error code (1:86001S:66003S:468882297O:0B) since October 9th purchase on Steam.
Can confirm this is NOT client-side:
- Verified all game files (100%)
- Repaired EAAntiCheat
- Changed DNS to 8.8.8.8
- Cleared EA App cache
- Disabled firewall/antivirus
- Tried everything mentioned in this threadEA Support Case #225201907 opened and escalated to backend authentication team. They confirmed it's an EA backend bug affecting Steam players specifically.
The issue is with EA server authentication rejecting properly linked Steam-EA accounts. No amount of local troubleshooting will fix this - it requires EA backend team intervention.
I've been told to monitor this forum thread for official EA/DICE response and updates via social channels.
Requesting EA official acknowledgment and timeline for fix. Multiple Steam players affected since launch.

Hey, is there any chance you could ask the EA Support Advisors for an ETA? It has been 4 full days with no updates and all my tickets have gone straight to bots.

Having the same issue, spoke to support who were not helpful at all, all they could say was “yeah we’re working to fix it” no compensation or any solution just can’t play the game that we all just spent $100 on

For me, I updated my BIOS earlier and had a USB drive connected to my PC. When I unplugged that, it worked.
If you have any “hot” drives connected, I’d recommend disconnecting them and restart the game. People on Reddit also mentioned double checking your anti-virus/VPN settings.

Hey! The issue has something to do with the internet provider itself. I a lot of tests wifi/cable connection, different networks, router reset etc. I did a test same machine but a different internet provider, and it worked. I used a personal hotspot, and again it worked fine.
For now, everything points that the internet provider and BF6 server don't work well together.
For context.
