For me, I updated my BIOS earlier and had a USB drive connected to my PC. When I unplugged that, it worked.
If you have any “hot” drives connected, I’d recommend disconnecting them and restart the game. People on Reddit also mentioned double checking your anti-virus/VPN settings.
It was this for me. I cannot believe how specific this was. I had a USB stick plugged into the back of my PC for the purposes of backing up my BIOS settings as updating my BIOS can be done with the file explorer in the bios itself. Removed the USB stick and tried again and it worked. Thank you. I would've removed the USB stick eventually and figured it out but you saved my a bunch of time, heartache and frustration.
