For me it wat Outline VPN service, that made the game not launch. Make sure, that you have no VPN services launched in the Windows Services menu.

I figured it out, I just downloaded the 2042 AntiCheat with the Javelin setup and it worked first try. Look at the image in my previous post!

So I found some interesting things. I noticed that whenever I click the play button on Steam is says "Running EAAntiCheatService.Installer.exe" and went into the BF6 location files. I found that exact .exe file and checked the entire BF6 download folder and could not find any executable for the actual EAAC, its only the installer. I then found that there is supposed to be several other files in there to actually run the EAAC. So I did some testing and check with Command Prompt. I queried it, ran it then queried it again and found that when the service runs it immediately quits again because its missing the other executables. When I was finally able to add in the other files and open BF6 it still kept closing after opening the initial screen. So I have a very high suspicion that EAAC is not downloading, installing and running correctly at all. I have tried all the solutions posted here and even added in the correctly installed AC files from another game to see if that worked and it did not. When I run the installer normally BF6 isn't even an option to install or repair.

Yeah I only have one drive and its my main C: drive. I have also completely uninstalled both EA and BF6 and made sure to wipe all the equivalent EA files since I don't have any EA games, everything is through Steam. Battlefield 6 is the only EA game I have currently.

Is BF6, EA anticheat, and EA app all installed on C: drive?
If not then uninstall everything.
- BF6
- EA anticheat. Make sure to select 'uninstall all'. https://help.ea.com/en/articles/platforms/pc-ea-anticheat/
- EA app
Reboot the computer to finish uninstalling EA anticheat kernel driver.
Then install everything on C: drive. There's a bug and EA anticheat will only look for files on C: drive.

I have been playing BF6 since release and never had an issue until tonight. Game ran fine until I booted up my computer today. Nothin changed about anything it just stopped working. I can't find that Game_Data_DIR and I also reinstalled fresh copies of both C++ and the Feature Media pack. I also tried it on a new microsoft acc and that didn't work either.

This made all my games work again, please try this.
- Press Win and search environment variables. Press Enter to search for that term.
- Open "Edit the system environment variables" and click Environment Variables…" in the Advanced tab.
- Click the "GAME_DATA_DIR" variable and delete it.
- Click OK to close the window and reboot your computer.
- This fixed my EA App after like 2 years of not being able to launch games
