Steam File Verify Problem

So I have BF6 on Steam, my main problem is that I have to reverify the files almost after every launch of the game. If I do not do this, I notice that in-game, I have a bad stutter when doing anything in game.

Menu lags, ADS lag, sprinting, the sutter is very noticeable in later matches. I noticed that if I verify the files in steam my problem goes away for a while, but then returns. I have steam and the battlefield 6 folder set as safe in my AV settings.

I have Steam and Battlefield installed on my C drive, NVME SSD.

I have an alright GPU AMD 6700 XT 12Gb, 32Gb RAM, Intel I5 13600KF, 2000Mbps Fiber

Apart from having to reverify the files after every other launch of the game I am unsure what I can do.

Is anyone else having problems like this?

  • OskooI_007 No.

EA Support told me last night that it was an issue with my microsoft admin account. They told me to uninstall the game, make a new microsoft admin account, then reinstall the game. So I did this only to arrive at the same problem of having to re verify the bf6 game files. I went a step further and uninstalled and reinstalled my steam after I made the new microsoft account profile, then reinstalled bf6.

    The problem still persists.

Also, this was originally posted 2 months ago, I have restarted my computer in that time frame.

  • MidniteSyn does opening Windows Start Menu and click Restart Computer fix it?

Sometimes computers go into standby or hibernate mode instead of completely shutting down.

  • Just wanted to provide another update.

I am still having this issue with the problem that I have to re verify the files almost after every launch of the game.

So far I have no remedy.

  • Just checking in and providing an update.

So far nothing I have done has fixed this issue. Clean reinstall and deleting files did not fix the issue.

I still have to reverify files every time or I get ingame stutters and lag.

Sharing in the hopes that it helps. Clean install seems to have fixed the issue for me. I uninstalled through Steam and deleted all BF6 files in the drive where I had the game installed (W: drive). I also checked the steamapps folder in my other drive (C: drive) and I saw that there were 3 files that did not delete. [Whenever I reverified game files using steam in the past, it always got hung up on 3 files so I assume it was these. ] Those 3 files were related to the anticheat. I deleted those and then proceeded to perform a fresh install from Steam; this time on the C: drive (my native steam drive). No issues after a couple of days.

Same issue, I did not have this issue prior to the season 1 update. GPU AMD 7900XT, CPU Ryzen 9 7900k, RAM 64GB, 1000Mbps Fiber. Is this being investigated?
