Re: Error code 1:85009S

I play on PC steam. The game was working fine on launch day, but yesterday and today, I would get into a game for maybe 5-10 minutes, only to be removed with the message “UNKNOWN ERROR 1:85009S.” This has been consistently happening, and I am open to suggestions on how I could fix it??

I have tried: verifying game files through steam, resetting both router and PC many times, allowing battlefield and anti cheat as an exception on my PC, ensuring firewall was not blocking anything, and I have now uninstalled it and am reinstalling it. Nothing has worked.

open to any further suggestions, I just wanna play the game man :(

I've been running into this issue as well, tried everything already - no solution. The link below also discusses this error, and the poster claims that EA is looking into it, but there's been nothing actually said from an EA person.... very frustrating to not be able to play the game opening weekend.

    UPDATE:

After trying basically everything online, I decided to uninstall and reinstall battlefield 6 and give that a shot. I ran steam as administrator and verified game files beforehand. Last night the game was working flawlessly, and I thought maybe that’s all it would take. I hop on tonight, and the same thing as before happened. 5 minutes into any game I’d be removed with the “Unknown Error - error code: 1:85009S. “

    Same issue as before.

It’s weird to me, when the game first launched I was able to play for about 4 hours, and the next day when I tried I got the error message. Once I uninstalled and reinstalled the game, I was again-able to play for ard 3-4 hours and today it’s back to the error code. It’s like they give you a 3 hour grace period before they decide you can’t play anymore! I don’t get it. It sucks :/

I really do hope this gets resolved soon, a game we’ve all waited so long for only to not be able to play it is very frustrating. It would at least be nice to see EA OFFICIALLY acknowledge it. Can’t even get a refund and download it on my Xbox at this point smh

    SOLUTION FOUND?? Latest Update:

    • so, one thing I saw online and tried, was going into my steam files and finding EAAntiCheat, running anticheat as an administrator (which launches the game, at least for PC Steam), and so far it has worked flawlessly. Knock on wood.

    • not sure if this is a permanent solution but worth trying as it seemingly has worked for me.

    • Open up file explorer, go into Local Disk, then Program Files (x86) > Steam > steamapps > common > Battlefield 6 > find EAAntiCheat.GameServiceLauncher (blue EA Icon), and run this as the administrator.

Did not work for me too.

Whatever the thing that checking the game every 5 mins is the cause of the problem.

I just checked it. It takes 5 mins for it to kick me out.
