VRAM usage exceeding minimum spec requirement

Hi,

Somehow Battlefield 6 is using around 12 GB of VRAM. after 30+ minutes of playing. The game runs fine for about 10 minutes then slowly starts choking itself out upon loading new areas. Not too sure why but it's frustrating. Particularly due to the fact that I'm running a 1920x1080p display at settings recommended by NVIDIA.

Specs:

Processor 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-12600K (3.70 GHz)

Installed RAM 32.0 GB

Edition Windows 11 Home

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060

Is it the old problem of after 3 ish rounds in a row it continues to fill up the memory? I still quit BF after 3 games and restart just to be safe.

I don’t think so. I will check later. I also found a slight work-around: switching from custom to auto(balanced) then auto(performance) in the main settings seems to dump the un-used vram
