Permanently banned from Battlefield 6 - I don't understand the reason
Good morning, I hope everyone is doing well.
I'm posting this because I'm confused about the ban I received, and I'm hoping someone can help me.
On September 22, I was playing Spider-Man Remastered with a Machenike G6 V2 controller. When the controller ran out of battery, I connected it to my PC via USB to charge it. After that, I decided to play Battlefield 6 for a while with the controller still connected.
I was playing with keyboard and mouse, but whenever I stood still for a moment, I sometimes noticed that the game was still detecting the controller because the on-screen prompts would switch to Xbox controller icons for things like grenades, switching the weapon to single-fire mode, etc.
I decided to try playing with the controller for a few minutes to see if I felt more comfortable using it, but it didn't work out because I'm already used to playing with keyboard and mouse. I finished my CONQUEST match, which is the mode I play most often, and then closed the game because I wanted to play another game that I also really enjoy.
I didn't play Battlefield on September 23 or 24 because I was playing another simulation game. It wasn't until September 25 that I decided to play Battlefield again. When I tried to launch the game, it wouldn't load and I was told that my account had been banned.
When I logged into my EA account, I saw that I had received a permanent ban for “Gameplay Enhancements.” Since I didn't understand what was happening, I started searching online and found out that I could appeal the decision.
I appealed several times, but EA maintained the same decision. Yesterday, October 1, I was finally told that I could no longer submit any more appeals:
“You have reached the appeal limit and are no longer able to re-appeal. You can review the decision in your case history.”
During my appeals, I submitted evidence showing what Steam recorded that day. I also explained that I normally have Riot Vanguard running in the background and that I received no alerts. I've played other games with anti-cheat systems using the same PC and components without having any issues.
At this point, I honestly don't know what else I can do to get the ban removed.
I'll post some of the evidence showing what Steam recorded that day. I can't say for certain that this caused the ban, but one of my suspicions is the controller because of the way Steam detected it when I connected it. Through HIDAPI, Steam identified it as a “Nintendo Switch Pro Controller,” even though the physical controller is the Machenike G6 V2 I mentioned earlier.
I suspect it may have had something to do with the situation because I had previously tried playing Battlefield with a PS5 controller and never received a ban. This only happened after the session in which I tried this controller.
That's everything I can think of for now, and I hope someone can help me. I understand that some people may think I'm lying or that I actually used some kind of hack, but I am completely certain that I did not use cheats to gain an advantage. That's exactly why I kept appealing and why I'm still trying to find a way to recover my account or have my case reviewed again.
If anyone has experienced something similar, I would really appreciate it if you could share your experience. And if any EA staff member can advise me on what I can do now that I no longer have the option to appeal, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you.
These are some of the pieces of evidence I mentioned. They are Steam logs from September 22. You can see when Steam detected the controller through HIDAPI, when Battlefield 6/EA AntiCheat was launched, and when the controller was later disconnected.
I'm not claiming that this caused the ban. I'm sharing it because it was one of the differences I found during my last gaming session before the ban.
