2 of the 4 BF3 Premium DLC won't download on PC

Hi,

Since I bought BF3 Premium last weekend I'm struggling to download Armored Kill and Close Quarters DLC. End Game and Aftermath caused no issue.

Each time I start download, they download ut once they reach 100% download restart at 60/70% again and again without ever ending.

I've tried all I can humanely done and all EA support guys told me to. Here is what I've tried so far :

- Reinstall BF3,

- Reinstall Origin,

- Elevate my Windows 7 account to Administrator,

- De-activate my anti-virus,

- De-activate windows UAC.

Has anyone encountered (and solved) the same issue ? Or any other idea ?

Thanks.

    All,

So I've tried to apply solution described here : http://www.omgeek.net/forum/showthread.php?tid=102

    What to do:

    1. Exit Origin.
    2. Go to http://anchorfree.com/ and download the free version of this app. This app is an OpenVPN based privacy and security tool that can change your current ip address.
    3. After you downloaded & installed the application, Run it.
    4. It will install a virtual hardware. Install it.
    5. When the installation is complete. Run it, then activate it.
    6. Run Origin.

And it worked ! It seems there is an issue with port filtering with Australian DODO users (and some other Telcos around the world).

Apparently it is also possible to solve the issue by configuring Windows to use Google DNS (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4) instead of default Dodo ones. I'm checking that.

Hope that will help other users.

    Cheers.

  • I have the same issue. I have sent the following message without a response:

I have been having trouble downloading and installing the Armoured Kill and Close Quarters Battle expansions for BF3 over the last week now. I am sick of the useless steps I have to take and have used over 150GB of download data trying to uninstall, re install re download tweak this change this. I want to be able to download an executable file to manually install. I have already contacted the help centre twice with case numbers: 08729546 and 08729546. I have tried the following:

    1. Change firewall settings
    2. Download and install without firewall running
    3. Run origin as administrator
    4. Delete cache files,
    5. Delete install files
    6. Delete update folders 2 and 3
    7. Completely uninstall BF3 and origin and re install (three times, with the last time to a different HDD)
    8. Delete licence files etc.

BF 3 and all other expansions install and work correctly without issue. I am growing short on patience and I want to resolve this issue now. You don’t need to butter me up with the “I’m sorry sir, let me help you resolve this” lines as it will just infuriate me. I just want you to fix this issue.

So, an update on my issue, i spoke to a help person on live chat and they told me i had to call EA by phone. here is their response.

Erica: I have checked the previous case and since you have already tried the workaround for the issue, what I can advise you to do is to contact our phone support for further assistance for we do have a specialized team that handles these issues.

    you: whats the number?

    you: hello?

Erica: This team is available 10AM-10PM EST, Monday through Saturday. [Admin. Edit] Please contact support via this link: https://help.ea.com/en/contact-us/
, select option one, and enter your case number (08729546). When the advisor answers the phone, let them know you are calling about an escalated case and the advisor will get you to the proper team. For your convenience, you may choose to contact them using a VOIP service such as Skype or Googletalk.

The problem is that they are only open from 9am to 9pm CST. Which for me in Sydney Australia is between midnight and midday. I get up for work at 5am and leave by 5:15am. so now i need to either stay up late or get up early to get the game to work correctly as advertised. To say i am unhappy is an understatement.

    Hi,

I've contacted them. After two days and hours (not kidding, hours) spent on Skye, still the same issue and no solution. I've search a little bit further on Google and foun this thread :

    http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3/forum/threadview/2832654625180721270/1/

They say it's a Telco issue with Dodo customers. And I'm a Dodo customer (don't know if you guys are). So I've tried the solution explained at the end of this thread :

    http://www.omgeek.net/forum/showthread.php?tid=102

So I'm giving it a try. I'll keep you posted, but It will take a while as with the VPN I'm only downloading at 50kb/s. That being said, that would not explain why Enf Game and Aftermath were downloaded correctly but Close Quarter and Armored Kill weren't.
