8ta 3g modem connectivity issues (telkom RSA) battlfield 4 servers!
8ta 3g users across the country are having issues connecting to battlefield 4 servers. Common error being "client closed down connection". The 3g sticks have high speed download rate(the internet is not slow). The ping of the player is low between 40ms-60ms depending on server loacation. Latency and speed arn't the issues. Im taking a guess at the fact that the ports are congested around 8ta(telkom) 3g internet 5 packages and so servers are kicking the players off. As they lose connection. (lag is not experienced before the kick). Signal strength is at 5 bars so that is not the issue either. Hardware faults are not the issue either as using a different 3g stick doesn't solve the error. This only occurs on BF4 and BF3 when joining the dedicated servers globally. I am not the only user to have this problem. As I have 20+ friends with the same issue. Gamers that bought and want to play Battlefield. This might not be directly your fault, but I would like to request you work with 8ta(telkom RSA) to solve the issue as it is becoming highly annoying and we can almost not play Battlefield. Unfortunately the issue hasnt been resolved. ive moved over to adsl, since it is a fixed contract i recommend getting a sim for another service provider such as vodacom, cell c or mtn, then buy the fixed bundles of data and use it specifically for bf4, all other online games seem to function on 8ta, but this is the fastest and easiest solution ive found as 8ta's response has been; "Its not our problem", Im certainly not renewing the contract with them after that. Hope this helped, I wasnt able to find another solution. Dont bother trying to cancel. The cancelation fee is more than what the contracts worth.
