Assault Spawn Beacon Thoughts
With dice recently deciding to take the spawn beacon from recon and give it to assault I've been thinking of how to give assault the team play that they want from the beacon without taking it away from recon. In short recon needs the beacon it's been a core part of their identity forever and with the spec ops path in bf6 it will remain to be fundamental to the recon playstyle. I think they should leave the beacon on recon and give assault an assault flare. This would be a flare gun that you get one use of per life (perhaps it could be resupplied at the vehicle supply points but not the supports ammo kits). This flare gun would allow you to shoot a big obvious flare in the air that would allow your entire team to spawn on it for about 30 seconds. This would allow the assault to truly define the front line and leave the sneaky cheeky insertion beacon to the recon. Assault can run and gun and explode their way to a good spot pop a flare and start a large team flank or reinforce a position the enemy is threatening. Imagine you are on an objective and you see a big red flare shoot into the air and you know you have a matter of seconds before multiple squads are absolutely swarming in to take the point. It being very limited use would make it an assault instead of a persistent spawn for gorilla tactics. This fits the idea of the assault class well and would promote the team role assault needs. You could use the explosives fast movement and other assault tools to make your way through the front line and pop a flare to give your team the chance to make a large push from a different angle for a short time. If the assault fails you try again. On the other hand imagine you spawn on one of your objectives and 2 enemy squads have made it past your front line. Pop a flare and it lets your entire team know that oh **** we need people to spawn here and hold this point. Thoughts?
