the old problem of vehicles thieves

It often happens during a match that your team lacks vehicles for the entire duration of the game.
This happens because, as I've been seeing for years, people parachute or even create multiple accounts to steal your vehicles.
Just yesterday on 2042 I witnessed the most disgusting thing I've ever seen: an enemy tank tries to kill you. It's completely normal, you might say.
Except that a few meters away from me was an allied tank that: didn't shoot at the enemy tank, but simply drove past it without shooting, dismounted, and gave the allied tank to the enemy.🤣

This pissed me off so much that I immediately left the server,
but it gave me an idea to submit: The traitor will be flagged throughout the match and can be killed by allies.

Traitor Mode.
The traitor will not only be the one who gives away his vehicle, but also the one who receives it will be a traitor and therefore subject to nerfs.
It will be easier to spot and will load more slowly. In short, people who do this should be punished for DISLOYALTY.

  • I don't think it happens the way you think it does, at least not that often.

It's usually just a matter of teammates jumping out of a vehicle that's about to die, in attempt to save their own lives. It gives the enemy a chance to jump in, drive the vehicle back to their own base and then repair it. Alternatively the enemy might steal the vehicles that spawn on an objective that you've captured. Both situations aren't that hard to prevent if your team knows what it is doing.

  • I think it happens when they jump out trying not to be eliminated. I mean the only thing more fun than stealing a tank after they jump out is getting camper tags. So much fun it should be a war crime. ░°_°░

  • I appreciate the sentiment of this and agree its a problem but I think there are more elegant ways of handling it. Other games have implemented vehicle locks that allow you to get out and as long as you stay within a certain radius then friendlies cannot get into the driver's seat (for a limited time). Enemies can still steal the vehicle though.

This will prevent the thefts, whether intentional or unintentional from happening in the first place.

  • I believe there’s no need to complicate the game mechanics just because someone occasionally behaves unsportsmanlike.

Stealing vehicles has been a thing since Battlefield 1942. Every now and then, there’s always that one teammate waiting to steal your vehicle when you hop out to repair it or even hand it over to the enemy as you mentioned.

  • Stealing vehicles is fun, but a friend selling your vehicle to the enemy isn't. If there are no engineers or skilled players on that team, they'll be stuck in a corner of the base for the entire game without the necessary vehicles.
Anyone who exploits enemy vehicles and does so constantly knows how to **bleep**
