Balance is the only thing this game does not have...
Hello, been playing BF1 for several months and in rank 83 in mostly Assault Class. During gameplay I observed a number of inbalances especially in matchmaking and classes.
In matchmaking, team player distributions are alleged to be based on skill level, However, most of the time one can see that 2 allegedly close teams are nowhere close skillwise in actual gameplay. In addition, in most games heay burden are indeed on the shoulders of 6-7 "really skillful" rank 90 and up players in both teams. Most others seems to be "bit players" in a stage. So I want to know what, as the game developers, your crtiteria in players' skill based distributions to teams are. I think something is not right, NOT FAIR in this respect and you must devise a different, more fair skill distribution system. This pain of inbalance is felt more heavily by newcomers (so called "noobs").
In terms of classes, do you the developers not think medic is the most privileged class in the game? They have access a wide range of quite deadly weapons; automatic, self loading, snipers & other long range weapons and GRENADE RIFLES. They already (and naturally) have self-healing advantage. Primary function of medics in an army is to heal, to revive, to support rheir teams; not being well-equipped warriors! Some may complain many of their weapons as sluggish, weak etc. and I too complain about the most assault weapons (effective only in short range, inadequate in mid & long ranges). In short, you developers must redefine in your minds the purpose of this class and make necessary revisions without concerning about probable negative feedbacks from medic-players. I mean not medics should be just doctors with a pistol, but in its current state this class is unfairly powerful, thus privileged. They are indeed snipers with self healing ability in disguise. My suggestion is to transfer some automatic & long range weapons and especially grenade launchers to the classes more fit for them to use. E.g. Why should Supports not use these launchers when they can use grenade crossbows or similarly why should assaults not have these launchers if they are to have particular access to explosive weaponry?
The last but not the least is the number of scouts/snipers allowed in a team. You guys must put a limit to their numbers in a team. Sometimes near half of a 32 player-team happens to be scouts. This makes the game a very unpleasant experience to have.
Be sure that all the complaints I presented above are not only out of my personal frustrations, my playing preference and subjective inadequacy. I am certain many people'd agree most of them.
Philosophically one might argue that if the war itself is not fair then why a game of war should be and my answer'd be if fairness is to be out of concern in this game becuse war itself being unfair, then every nation in the war should have their own weaponry & vehicles (regardless of being particularly strong/weak) in the game and even "cheating" should not be a reason to a player ban. I hate cheaters by the way.
