Like you, I wanted to play bf1 after many years. I can't open the game for 2 days. A short loading screen appears and then it returns to the EA launcher page. I tried your solutions, but I couldn't figure it out.
Try moving the Battlefield 2042 folder out of Documents folder. That well reset the game settings to default.
