Battlefield 1 CTE
Although I know that DICE has stated on a few occasions that the CTE should be making it's way to consoles some time soon, I'm just curious as to whether I can play it on PC in the meantime?
Call me impatient, but as a keen Battlefield premium player on PS4: watching the PC community play on new maps makes me feel like I'm missing out on helping to test the future content of Battlefield. So far; the first major DLC, two unique maps, a whole array of gameplay updates (and a funny April fools event) have been featured on the CTE, creating somewhat of a divide between platforms. This was less of a problem during Battlefield 4 as anyone with premium (on any platform) could download the CTE on Origin.
The problem is that I can't apply for the CTE on PC through the companion app, as my premium is connected to my PlayStation account. However I was told that the PC CTE is/ was also obtainable through redeem codes on Origin, but have no further knowledge of how to obtain a code. I just thought I would post this here to see if anyone else is in the same predicament or has any possible workarounds (other than "wait for it to come to console").
Thanks

With the community test environment being out for a few weeks now (on console), I thought I'd close up this topic with the requirements to get your hands on it, where to access it, and how much memory the application takes up.
First of all, the Battlefield 1 CTE is only available to Premium Pass holders - this was expected and has been the same for all of the Battlefield games that have featured a CTE. Whether a console player or on PC, the premium pass is essential to access the CTE. For anyone reading who doesn't yet own the game, the Revolution Edition of Battlefield 1 has just been released and includes both the base game and the Premium Pass.
For those of you looking for where to find the CTE on console: load your Battlefield 1 game up and scroll right through the main menu until you reach the "MORE" section. From here select the "COMMUNITY TEST ENVIRONMENT" option and scroll down to register. Initially there were only a limited amount of applications available to players, so as not to overload the CTE servers. However with it being released for a fair amount of time now, this shouldn't be a problem.
After successful registration you should be sent to the console's store where you can download your free community test environment. The application is just under 60GB in size (quite large), so that's something to think about before downloading it. That's it, you're set to go - we've waited patiently for almost 8 months since the CTE was first unveiled for PC players, and now we finally have access to it. Let's just hope it was worth the wait.
