Battlefield 3 – “Could not activate” / Signed in as blank
Hi everyone,
I’ve been trying to get Battlefield 3’s campaign working for weeks now and I’m stuck. My soldier “Riskybullets” shows up on Battlelog, and I’ve confirmed I own the game. But when I try to launch it, I get:
- “Could not activate Battlefield 3”
- “You are signed in as: [blank]”
Here’s what I’ve tried so far:
- Revo Uninstaller for a full clean uninstall (EA App, BF3, leftover folders)
- Reinstalled everything fresh
- BF3_License_Fixer and Venice Unleashed
- Launching via EA App and directly through bf3.exe
- Manually removed the license key
- Edited the registry via regedit to clear out old license data
Still no luck. I only want to play the single-player campaign, but I can’t get past this license issue. Has anyone found a solution for this?
I found a solution to my problem that fixed my game using Venice Unleashed. The usual fix involves typing the following command:
vu.exe -activate -o_mail Email -o_pass Password
However, I used a different command:
vu.exe -activate -lsx -wait
This generates a token, which resolved the “Could not activate” prompt I was getting. If the token doesn’t automatically register, you can manually activate it using:
vu.exe -activate -ea_token "yourTokenHere"
After that, just launch Venice Unleashed. Once it's running, you should also be able to boot the regular game.
