Battlefield 3 extra 7GB download

Hi,

 I just have a query surrounding the fact that I have just purchased BF3 for PC and it came with 2 discs as it is premium edition. I have installed both discs through Origin and now instead of playing the game, I have to wait for a 7GB "update" to finish. First off, I understand there may have been changes made to the game inbetween the time that the game made its way from the factory to my hands but 7GB? Thats a friggin full game right there. And second off, I live in New Zealand where there arent unlimited data caps and Internet is precious, surely there must be some kind of warning to tell me there may be an extra download on top but I cant seem to find one. Not happy about not being warned before Origin decides to update my newly installed copy of BF3.
