Battlelog website absolutely refuses to work.

Alright, where to start with this...

I've been having a LOT of trouble getting BF3 to work on my computer (for one, I didn't know the launcher was web-based), which stemmed from the plugin not being downloaded. After more than 7 hours of searching, I finally came across a solution for the plugin, directing me to http://battlelog-cdn.battlefield.com/public/download/.

After installing the plugin, closing all browsers, clearing all of my browsers' caches (Chrome, Firefox, and IE), then opening the browsers and going to the Battlelog website, it still didn't work. I've tried all of the solutions offered everywhere else (including, but not limited to: reinstalling Origin, reinstalling BF3, closing all browsers, clearing the cache, repairing the install, reinstalling the plugin) to no avail.

In a bout of desperation, I tried downloading a third-party launcher (from Realmware) but it apparently isn't compatible with my 64-bit machine.

I really want to give BF3 a try, especially since I bought the game, but unless I can get help here, it's looking like I might have to return it and get my money back. What can I do to get the web-based launcher to work?

    Oh also, have you changed your hosts file by any chance?

    Im having the exact same problem. The quick matchmaking does nothing but load. Seems that the only thing I can do is to play campaign but thats not the reason I bought this game! After several hours of googling still no answers...

    Still no response in almost 24 hours, so I'll go ahead and bump this so EA (hopefully) sees it.

    You say that it was because of the plugin not being installed and that it now "still doesn't work". But you havn't said what the problem is now! other than it doesn't work which is quite hard to troubleshoot.

     

    Please accept solutions if they are correct and press the XP button if somebody helped you.

    Ah yes, my apologies.

    The plugin is installed from what I can tell (it shows up in Firefox and Chrome) but the buttons on Battlelog remain unclickable, as well as the drop down menu containing my username. It's acting as though the plugin isn't installed, which it most certainly is.

    Well, it would seem something might be interfering with your browser. I would suggest you try (taking Chrome here):

    • Disabling all browser extensions
    • Try Incognito mode and see if that works
    • Reinstalling the web plugins as administrator
    • Scan your computer for malware and viruses/trojans
    • Use CCleaner to clean your computer+browser of junk - http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner
    • Make sure Battlelog Web Plugins and ESN Sonar is installed and isn't blocked by antivirus, firewall or antimalware
    • Temporarily disable antivirus, firewall or antimalware

    I have the same problem but it just started 2 dayes ago, played bf3 for 1 year whithout problems??

    I've tried all of those suggested fixes, to no avail (but I DID free up ~120GB of temporary files and unused applications). Would more information, such as a dxdiag log, provide any further insight as to why this might be happening?

    yes, dxdiag would be usefull. Also a screenshot of your running applications and background services would be usefull as well.

    oh, and wow...just wow of how much junk files you have on your system. No wonder it is a little wobbly 😛

    Well, that was utterly boring as in I can't finde anything wrong. I'm kinda lost to be honest since I can't have the computer in front of me. Have you done all the things I listed with no result at all?

    I guess the next thing I would like to see is a video of the problem occouring although I don't quite know what I'm going to use it to yet.

    I understand why this problem bugs you so much 😛
