12 years agoBF3 wont update
so ive had a battlefield 3 game sitting on my desk for about a year, and i finally just got a new graphics card (set it up last night) and i decided to download and install it. now on origin it says ...
Hi,
it could be something has gone wrong while installing the game preventing the updates from downloading.
Reinstalling (yes, even though you just installed) could help solve your problem. To avoid the download of
the entire game you can follow the below instructions:
download and install the latest Origin client (if not already installed)
# Exit Origin
# Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games on your hard drive (or the Origin game map you configure)
# Copy the entire BF3 folder to another location. This will be your backup of the BF3 data.
# Start Origin and uninstall the game then restart Origin to be shure the state of BF3 is uninstalled. (you will be presented with the download button in origin)
# Start the download of BF3 but pause it when it is running (kb's are being received. 100kb will be anough already)
# Exit Origin
# Copy back the BF3 folder (the backup you made) to the Origin games folder and overwrite the existing files
# Log back in to Origin and resume the download.
# After downloading, right click BF3 and choose check for update
I hope this resets the state of your BF3 installation and starts updating.
Best regards,

froze at roughly 11,890 mb. this is where last time i had it installed it would let me play campaign but needed a 9,000 mb update for multiplayer cause the whole game is around 20 gb. sooo
Sorry to hear that.
