Bf4 low fps and stuttering

Hi, i'm gettting low fps on bf4 with low settings only mesh on ultra, 100% resolution scale on 1920x1080,i get 50-80 fps and get the feeling the game is stuttering. Temperatures are cpu max 58 and gpu max 73.

I tried to disable origin in game, clean boot,  high performance mode, disabled intel turbo boost, lower resolution.
My pc:
•Seagate: HDD 1TB 7200RPM 64MB SATA-III
• RAM: Crucial 8GB DDR3 1600MHz CL11 Unbuffered
• Case Zalman Z3
• CPU Intel Haswell Refresh, Core i5 4460 3.2GHz
• PSU Aerocool KCAS 500W
• MB ASRock B85M Pro3
• GPU Zotac GeForce GTX 960 4GB DDR5 128-bit
• SSD Patriot Blaze Series 120GB SATA-III 2.5 inch
• OS Windows 10 64bit

Are you using any third party programs such as MSI afterburner, Razer Cortex, or Raptr on your PC? Those sometimes negatively affect performance.

What driver version are you currently on?  If you are fully updated, there have been issues with the latest drivers.  I recommend doing a roll-back to one of the two drivers, released on 3/1/16 (362.00) or 3/28/16 (364.72).  When you roll back, make sure to do a full CLEAN install of the driver.

Here are the steps to do a FULL CLEAN install of your graphics drivers:

    1.  Go here and find the version of the driver you need, and download it

    2.  Save it to a location that you will easily be able to find (such as your desktop)

    3.  Download and install DDU Uninstaller

    4.  Run DDU Uninstaller and remove all drivers present (there may only be your current one, but sometimes an old driver will still be hanging around that you did not know was there)

    5.  Reboot your PC (when it boots back up, your screen may flicker and your resolution will probably not be correct, this is normal and will go back to normal when the driver is installed)

    6.  Find the downloaded Driver you saved before and install it

    7.  After the install is complete, Reboot the PC again

    8.  After your PC boots back up, everything should be back to normal (if your resolution does not automatically reset itself to your monitor's native resolution, then go to your settings and set it to the correct resolution)

    9.  Boot up and test the game again

  • I followed the steps and also unistalled MSi Afterburner, changed mesh quality on medium  and switched on performance in nvidia control panel but i still get the same performance.

  • It seems that helped a bit it didn't go under 60, but i still feel the game stuttering and also huge fps drops from 120 to 70 and 60. Is there any way that my system can hold a steady 100 fps?

    Hello!!! @IICpt_KirbyII

In game video settings right side set to custom and set everything to medium or low but last three turn them off ....

    1-antialiasing deferred off
    2-antialiasing post off
    3-ambient occlusion off

There is a way to lock your frames.  This will keep your frames stable, but does not guarenttee they will not drop.  For example, if your GPU usually stays above 110, and you lock it at 100, it will stay around there with FPS drops being less frequent.  Follow the steps below to lock your frames in-game.

    1.  While in BF4, open up your console by hitting the ` key (the key next to 1 and above Tab)

    2.  Type: gametime.maxvariablefps 100 (you can type any number, and that is the frames it will lock it at, it will never go above, but can go below, so you could also try 90 for a bit more stability)

    3.  Hit Enter

    4.  Hit ` again to close the console

  • @INicexixI everything is set on low and off except mesh quality which is on ultra( i did switched it to low but performance didn't change)

@TapouTony420 I did set it to 60 but i feel the game very sluggish. I fogot t mention i have a 144hz monitor.
