BF4: micro stutter / brief freezes after spring patch

Hi there,

as of june, the game has becomes unplayable for me.

I play at a constant 130-144 fps on a 144hz g-sync monitor with a constant 15 ping.
Never had this issue before. Game used to always run super smooth.

Now, shortly after the "big spring patch" there's these frequent hiccups/stutters/micro-freezes as i would call them.

It's as if the crosshair freezes for a split-second. It's super frustrating. I've reverted geforce drivers, did a complete re-install (hence invested a lot of time and energy into fixing this issue already) and the problem still persists.

If this is on a P.C.

    FIXED IT.

I read on the forums that the fix was for mostly the X86 AKA 32 bit version of the game, and went into origin game settings and chose that as my default for start up,  Not x64 and BOOM, LAG is gone and game play back to where it was before the spring patch. Y'all may want to try this as it has work for me, someone who had no issues before the patch

So this worked for me, it just may be the reason if your default startup game is listed as x64 as mine was

  • Same here. Only, and ONLY after the spring patch I get 1-10 sec long freezes. Especially at the end of rounds. Sometimes this causes me to disconnect from the game.

  • Hi

    • Try to reinstall the game.
    • Delete the configuration file settings of the game. (My Documents>>Battlefield 4)
    • Completely remove and re-install the driver for your graphics card.
    • Check for updates your Windows.
    • Clean the system. (AdvancedSystemCare or CCleaner)
    • Try turning off antivirus.
    • Try disabling the option "Origin in the game"
  • Same issue that brought me here, good news is I'm not the only one.

But it only started after the spring patch...

  • Has anyone else tried this? Is this a good fix or will switching from 64bit to x86 version also decrease gpu/cpu power in game?

Well I didn't see any decrease in anything. It's easy to test and it's not changing any of your configurations. It just runs the game in x86 mode AKA 32 bit. See if it helps..can't hurt!

Thanks, the idea "RAW-INPUT" on the in-game settings for the mouse helped me to fix the stuttering. I didn't have this problem before the last Patch at all.

    My system is as followed:

    • OS:                      win7 x64 (with service pack 1)
    • Directx:                11 on System, but on the graphic card it says only directx 10!!
    • Procesor:           Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3770K CPU @ 3.50GHz
    • Mainboard:        Asus Formula V
    • RAM:                  16GB RAM
    • Graphic card:   NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580 (version 353.06)
    • Mouse:              RAZER Deathadder 3500dpi
    • Keyboard:          Roccat ISKU
  • I am getting the same 3-5 freezing. Sometimes the game comes back but often I get kicked out/disconnected.

    I have tried everything possible.
