BF4 PS3 - System hangs when attempting to enter a match

My game crashes to the XMB almost every other game.

I will be playing normally, then the screen goes black, the little white blip appears in the top right corner a few times, then it goes back to the PS3 start menu as if I hit "quit game".

Prior to this happening, there are no FPS drops or latency. I have adjusted default resolution settings for the PS3, checked the disc for physical damage, reset my router, adjusted the Network Smoothing Factor and ensured that the system is not running hot or overheating. Nothing works. 

I have never seen a PS3 game crash to the XMB. This is very odd. The game is actually really good when its working, but this error is seriously damaging my experience and has caused an outrageous disconnect rate.

Please advise ASAP

When I run my Battlefield 4 on my PS3 (a copy that I purchased today) and it said it updated and then notified me that game data would need to be installed. After it downloads, my screen goes black except for a tine white dash at the top right corner of my screen. The console completely freezes and I'm unable to do anything with the controller. Do I need to just exchange it or is this a common problem?

Try to exchange the disc.. but i dont think thatll help.. alot of ppl have had similar issues

When I try to connect to an online match, the black loading screen appears and then sends me back to the XMB menu. The same applies with the singleplayer as well. Will a patch be released?

This is absolutely awful.

I freeze on start up of the game 100% of the time, either at the menu where it is raining when you click start to go into the multiplayer/campaign options, or at the black screen right before the picture of a map shows up when you try to join an online match.

I bought the game day one, and have spent hours trying to solve this issue. I havent played a single game yet, I have frozen in every of probably 40+ attemtps to play the game.

I have deleted the game install and redownloaded it twice. Alot of fun watching a 10 GB download run 3 times and no be able to play, still. 

I have restored the PS3 file system in safe mode 3 times, and rebuilt the database in safe mode 2 times. I have tinkered with basically every setting on my PS3 that I read might have something to do with it. Nothing has worked.

This is the most disappointing game release ever. Never been more disappointed in a game than this. A glitched game is one thing, a broken unplayable game is totally unacceptable. This will be the last Battlefield I preorder,  going on day 2 of unplayable. Ill just wait a week next time.

Admins/Mods Please do not tell me to "Clear my cache" as ive done that twice already, that is not the issue. 

everytime i go to join a match doesnt matter the game mode, the online freezes my system ill make it in sometimes move 2 steps then it freezes or just gives me a black screen its happened 12 times now ive deleted it an reisntalled, ive played before and it worked fine, but all of a sudden it started and now i cant play anymore 

Unless I'm playing Conquest, I'm only able to play one match and then the game becomes stuck on the black loading screen. I'm playing on a PS3. Is anyone else having this issue?

Also, no matter what game mode I choose in the last hour or so, it always takes me to a squad deathmatch game.

I join a match, have no problem playing in that match, and then I get the infinite loading screen on the next map.

Edit to note that when I quit the game using the PS button option, it reboots my PS3.

Yep, that's exactly what is happening to me. The dots are still blinking in the upper right corner, but the next game never loads.
