Can't join brother online

I have had the game since launch and played online with my brother regularly but every time I've tried to join him today in a server or he joins me we both get disconnected with the message "Game disconnected: client closed down connection" we both live in same house using the same internet connection but we never had any problem before today, Any help would be appreciated.
