Can't rebind freelook key for xbox control, stuck with left trigger for freelook. Can't use xpadder.

Can't rebind the freelook key for jets on joystick (xbox controller)

Battlefield 4 automatically detects the controller now (without an option), which is horrible because now it's impossible to use xpadder (a great interface compared to ingame) to bind the controller.  Tried clearing joystick mapped keys and using xpadder; no effect, jet can't be used at all.

Works fine in Battlefield 3.

Same applies for helicopters when using xbox controller for PC. Worked great in bf3 but now hitting the left trigger tries to activate free look even when that binding has been cleared.

  • Same here.

Having same problems as listed above. Finding it difficult to pilot planes when I cant clear all of the key bindings.

forget planes, finding it difficult to pilot anything. what a boneheaded idea I hope they remove it.

Anyways boys lets bump this to the top.  Please let us bind our keys as we choose DICE!

Same problem. Can't fly anything now. Soon as I touch my left trigger which I want for YAW, I can no longer move the chopper or jet. This has ruined the game completely for me, leaving it unplayable.

  • Only way to get the choppers and jets to operate anywhere as good as BF3 is to remove freelook from the keybindings altogether, press and hold esc where its set to clear the binding. My bindings are LB for fire, down on the d-pad for countermeasures, RT/LT accelerate/brake. Hope they fix the tank controls they are horrible, LT will not reverse without zooming, left thumbstick will still reverse and go forward... even though the you have the controls mapped to rt/lt
