Hi. Am I missing some way to change the language? At the audio menu it seems locked and I cant change it to english. I'm from Brazil, so for now its in Portuguese.Thanks.

Have you changed your Origin client language also? I'm in a different country but my game still runs with Czech subtitles cos I have the Origin client set to Czech. Also bear in mind that the language needs to be changed before you begin the download and install of the game, otherwise you won't be able to change the language later.

EA only makes certain languages available in certain countries to reduce imports (grey market).UK version for example is only in English as UK games are cheaper than other parts of Europe.Did you buy it from Origin? If so check the site page and it'll tell you what languages you can use.If it says English then do as mentioned above with your Origin client.

[PC]Just to let you know it is possible to have double language installed with one language audio and an other for subtitle, even if it looks like a bug on my side.What I did is change Origin to English language (base is French).Then Exit it.In the local folder, copy all the audio files that should begin with your language tag.Create a new folder named (TempBackup for example) in that same place and past those files in it.So you're local folder should have only your new folder in it.Go back and rename your bg exe file with something like .BACK at the end so that when checking for updates, origin download the right executable.Now restart origin. If still not in english (was my case), change again the language of Origin and restart it.Now that origin is in the language of your choice, update BFH and you should see the new language files downloading.Now, in my case, and that's where it is probably a bug, I couldn't load the game with only the English language files.My region allows pretty much all EU languages, so it is not a restriction. Looks like the game kept blocking on my French language settings.As those language files where no more in place (remember, moved in the backup folder) the game throw an error.Now, here is the interesting thing.Go back in local folder and then in the Backup folder.Copy or Cut all the audio files and put them back in the local folder with the EN language files.Restart the game.It is working 😉Go in option, change the language (you can now switch between your native language and English.Game is still in native language so will the subtitle be.All in all it is working like that on my side. Dunno if it's kind of a weird bug or if intended but as long as you have the correct language files, you should be able to switch to those audio in game I suppose.

Hmm I've tried the same, changed every registry entry regarding the Hardline language to en_US, switched to english and US in Origin, and deleted the german files in the loc folder but it still downloads the german files -_-Am I missing anything? The german localisation sucks... I mean it's not that bad at all but there are some character voices that are just UGGHHHHHHH, I hate it, it was the same with Dragon Age Origins until they released the english language pack.I don't get it, what's the problem?It clearly says:Supported languages: Český, Deutsch (DE), English (US), Español (ES), Français (FR), Italiano, 日本語, 한국어, Polski, Português (BR), Русский язык, 中文（繁體Thats a lie... the version I bought only supports German out of the box...If there is a region lock regarding the language settings it should be stated on the Origin store page for the game.Edit: Now it works, don't know why but it's downloading the English files. Still it shouldn't be needed to change the language and country settings in Origin AND modify the registry to get another language in a game. Edit edit: Maybe this helps somebody. @Chiikken Yes, the client language is the important thing. Also, it is important to remember that if you change the language settings after the game is installed, it will not get affected. You need to change the language of the client and then install the game with the new settings.

We'll pass this on, but at this stage in the development of the game, I'm not sure it won't be a bit too late for any meaningful changes to happen.

I'm also very unhappy with that, I own the german version of the game. In Battlefield 3 and 4 the "speech" language in game could be changed to english through the main menu and otherwise the complete language could be changed by the registry. As said here in Hardline it is not possible. I really don't understand why this is. Please EA do something!

You can do that, only the voices are changed in the Audio tab of the options, instead of the Gameplay one. 🙂

I just returned the game. Won't play a game in stupid dubbed German. In my job I work in business, and it is an absolute mystery to me how EA manages to pi*s of its customers game after game for no proper reason. If I were an EA shareholder, I'd be very upset. Luckily I'm not, so I'm just a little bit sad I can't play a game that looks fun, I'll go to Steam and play another good game, while EA doesn't get the money I was happy to give to them.

Are you having any issues installing the game in English? With your game entitlements, you should have been able to install and play in English as normal, by simply following the steps provided in my previous message (put Origin in English, restart it, install game in English).

So...I just bought the game and made a huge mistake of assuming I'd be able to change the in-game language to English...Now I'm stuck with either Polish or Russian. I actually feel scammed since there is no indication anywhere that the language is region locked, and this wasn't the case during the beta...This is certainly the last game I bought from EA.

If you bought the game from Origin, it will have been displayed in the product description. It may not have been showcased on non-Origin stores, which is unfortunately outside of our control.

There is no clear message that says I won't be able to change the language to English. The ambiguous statement that the game is in Polish or Russian doesn't inform me of it. And I'm sad to hear that it's outside of your control what information you put on the games box.
Anyway I'm not interested in a futile discussion I just hope you will come to your senses and include the language change option in some patch...

The store clearly states "supported languages: Polish, Russian", which is the absolute opposite of "being ambiguous about which languages the game is playable in". We control what information is on the box, but not what information stores besides Origin decide to put up on their store pages, which are the ones we don't curate (as opposed to the Origin store).

English language will not be added to PL/RU versions of the game in the future, I can already tell you that.

I'm Japanese player so I bought BFH Japanese for PS4. I want to play the game with English voice and Japanese subtitle, but can't do so because there is no option to switch the voice in the menu. I can do so on BF4.
My friend has BFH Japanese for XB1. It provides him to play the game with English voice and Japanese subtitle. There is the option to switch. That's unfair, even both are same games!
Can you please update the game so that Japanese players can play BFH with English voice and Japanese subtitle ASAP? We should play the BFH in the same manner as we do on XB1.
