directx function get device removed reason failed with dxgi_error_device_reset

If anyone has had these errors please can you advise how to resolve -

After playing B4 for a few minutes the game crashes with DirectX error messages. Unable to play for anymore than 10 minutes but ussually crashes after 2 or 3 minutes

I recently upgraded from HD5770 card and the issue wasn't present then it is only since putting in the new RX480 card.

errors  -

"directx function get device removed reason" failed with dxgi_error_device_reset"

"directx function get device removed reason failed with Out of memory"

I have tried various version of drivers, all with same issue.

Reinstalled game, DirectX, VC, punkbuster.

All latest updates on OS and GPU

  • Thanks for your suggestions. I have discovered that the issue was caused by overclocking my CPU.

After removing the overclock from the processor the issue went away.

The 5770 card did mind this but appears the RX480 had issues with it.

All running lovely now even though the CPU is a bit slower ☹️

  • Hi @PenetrationUK!

Is your Gpu version overclocked? If yes try to set the clock speed to original value form the Radeon settings software.

    Best Regards

    hello @PenetrationUK

After@IIDaZzuII advice try check system for exist some programs like "Razer Surround/Synapse", RivaTuner, "EVGA Precision", Fraps, MSI Afterburner, ASRock eXtreme Tuner, Skype, XFire, XSplit and other... and disable/close it all...

Also uninstall AMD VGA driver, restart PC, then use AMD Clean Utility or DDU for cleanup, restart PC and install latest driver, restart PC )
