FPS Drops? (PC)

I am not sure if I get exactly the same issue, but what I do get is low FPS always. The game for me is unplayable at the moment. In any combat situation I get around 7 fps. After following some people's suggestions there was a small improvement in general FPS. But as soon as the action starts or randomly I get really low FPS. My freinds say I move like someone with parkinsons disease, its all jerky. When I see an enemy I often just die, and they teleport sometimes so I can't really aim. When I can aim its so jerky I'm normally dead before getting the cross hair moving.

Running an i5 750, 4GB RAM, Radeon HD 5850 graphics card.

Have disabled Origin in game. Troved the forum and this thread is the closest I found to my issue.

Gained a small increase in general performance with these settings:

perfoverlay.drawfps 1   (simply to keep an eye on what changes help)
renderdevice.renderaheadlimit 2
gametime.maxvariablefps 65

I've tried disabling 2 cores out of my four as suggested in other forums. This made it worse. Have taken off the park setting in Win 7 registry, this seemed to make little diference but if anything a small improvement.

Tips here seemed to help other people though, there is even a comment in there from a DICE empleyee:

Does anyone else have anything I can try. I'm very tempted to buy a new computer but am wary of it not solving my issues as others in other forums have i7's with the same issue etc.

Maybe I should have just asked for a refund but ideally I'd join my friends playing this game....

Yes same problem im my rig..... no matter what i do! Nothing setting wise to ease the fps drop pain. And is so frequent on many multiplayer matches that it willl turn you smile upside down .😕mileysad:

8 GB vengence RAM

500 watt PSU

And of course Windows 8 64 bit

If you don't have a multicore CPU you can stop reading now, this wont help you.

I was also experiencing FPS drops and I did some researching and discovered that it's caused by Windows 7 and BF4 not cooperating, with regards specifically to Windows "parking" cores that it deems unecessary in order to save power. It is possible to disable this feature, though it requires editing the registry. Don't run away just yet, there are several utilities that make this job easy. After doing this, all of your cores - logical or physical will be available for use when running BF4.

First, verify you have the same issue by loading into BF4 and pressing the ~ key to open the console and type the following;

perfOverlay.drawGraph 1

perfOverlay.drawFps 1

If the graph spikes around the same time you experience the frame drop, then alt tab and open the resource monitor (Task Manager > Performance > Resource Monitor (button near the bottom) > CPU Tab). Down the right hand side you should see individual graphs for each of your cores. If any of them are in a "parked" state, then you have the same issue I did, and should continue reading.

Hi, during multiplayer and single, I get big  fps drops down into the 40's when looking towards busy areas, usually the middle of the map. Even on low or medium graphics settings it still occurs. Im using a AMD 7990. I have tried A LOT of fixes, nothing seems to work.

i72600@3.4/3.8

Gigabyte 7990 Graphics card

8g Kingston hyper X @1333 ram

Gigabyte H77M-D3H motherboard

Samsung 500gb SSD in AHCI mode

1200 watt Antec power supply

Windows 7 ultimate 64bit

PS. Playing "Operation Locker" 64 player servers I found turning "LIGHTING" setting to LOW, yields a massive fps increase, even with all other settings at ultra 4xaa, does not seem to work on other maps, with fps drops into the 40's or lower when looking at high traffic areas or when a Levolution event occurs.

Max GPU Load of 60% and CPU Load of around 70% but drops are extrem. Looking around to some wider areas increases FPS from 70 to 30-40 FPS...

Client Update didn´t fix. Still the same!

I got to tell u guys that..

i resolved my problem.

I was looking into " My Computer propeties "

Were saying memory installed: 8gb Usenble: 3.98 gb..

I bought new memorys..

now using entire 8gb.. 

no more fps drops.
