I am still having this bug as well, post patch. I've completed every other challenge and have went through 7 times trying to complete this one and even after taking out 36 guns I'm still not getting credit for it.
Same here.
Got all fieldguns possible but the codex won`t unlock
Never died, no restarts, played through it 7 times now on every difficulty.

Never mind, turns out i missed one just before crossing the bridge at the end of the map.
