How do I join a game as a 'party' or 'squad' with a few of my friends together?

So i will be guarenteed to be on the same team and squad once we join in?

I don't understand why I can't figure out how to do it? There must be a simple explanation?

After speaking to a EA Rep/Game Advisor, I learned that this feature is currently disabled due to the amount of players connecting.

According to "Options" I have learned that you are supposed to automatically join a friends squad when you join a their game. The catch seems to be that if they are in an empty server and you join, you are automatically put on the other team.

So the rule seems to be:

Joining a friend on a server will automatically put you in their "squad" unless:

    1. The joining player is exactly the second person on the server

    2. The joined player's current team has 1+ more players than the opposing team.

    3. The joined player's current team is full.

Does this sound right, scumbags at EA?

im sorry this worries me more

how did DICE not expect this??

all other FPS multiplayer games have party options and never once has it needed to be disabled due to large # of players

how this got thru BETA testing is beyond me

They actually made a statement on facebook saying, "We're not offering the old squad join feature because we didn’t feel that the feature in Battlefield 3 was on par with the quality that we wanted to offer our players. We have no plans to add it in the future." So the EA rep was either lying to you, or another EA rep lied to millions on facebook. I doubt they would lie to millions on facebook, but I would hope that they'd have plans for a party system in the future, because nearly every shooter since Halo 2 has had it.
