How do I make rain in the game seem more "prevalent"?

I was looking back at some of the trailers and noticed that in one particular shot, the rain looked so good and "prevalent" like it was a heavy downfall, and I was wondering if there are any settings I can change to make it look like that.  Currently running a GTX1080 (OC) Ryzen 5 1600 and 16GB RAM, at Ultra settings and 170% resolution scale.

I have added two screenshots, the one with the blimp is mine when it is raining on St Quentin Scar and the other is from the trailer.

  • I don't think you can control the density/amount of rain that comes down without Cinematic Tools.

I think some weather effects were changed from the Alpha/Beta for better FPS (At least thats what I heard)

Expect some extra enhancements during post-production for the trailers..

Although you can try playing on 200% resolution scale and see how it goes.

There also could be a difference if you're playing on 1080p. Should look way better on 1440p/4K

  • Nothing much you can do during normal play unfortunately, generally the rain on most maps (St. Quentin or Empire's Edge) for example feature fairly tame rain, though some of the Battlefield 1 concept art showed heavy thunderstorm trench combat so hopefully with maybe either Turning Tides or Apocalypse (or free bonus maps) we might see full-fledged rain rather than slight drizzles.
